The training course will last 2 days (16 hours training) over the week end in order to overcome problems of overlapping with work duties of participants. The training course will be divided in theoretical and practical sessions and a final evaluation. Participants in the course will receive the “HAPPY BONES Trainer” certificate. Some of the topics that will be discussed during the course will be:
Strategy and methodology to adapt physical exercise in adult and old age
Once completed the training in Rome, a pilot action will be organised in each participating country to apply the training protocol developed.
The objective of the pilot project is to evaluate the effectiveness of an individualized protocol in osteopenia / osteoporosis patients both in terms of improvement of physiological (BMD, strength, fitness) and psychological (Quality of life, depression, better adherence in the workplace) parameters. The second aim is to compare the level of adherence and drop outs to the protocol in the 2 settings of application: at work and in sport facilities.
The pilot action aims to recruit at least 50 women with osteopenia / osteoporosis (n = 10/12 subjects for each country) aged between 50 and 65 years and who have been sedentary at least in the last 2 years.
72 lessons will be provided over a period of 24 weeks.
